Don't Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the initial chapter of their new narrative adventure. Players can currently experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" offered free to all purchasers on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game centers on a close-knit group of friends fractured during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the specters of that summer resurface, triggering unforeseen and terrifying repercussions.
Blending nostalgic charm with psychological thriller elements, the game draws inspiration from It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. The developers have structured the game into two parts: "Bloom" and "Rage." Currently, only "Bloom," the first half of this captivating mystery, is available (February 18th release).
"The Tape," the second part, will debut on April 15th. Initially planned for March, the release was delayed to refine the overall experience.
The review embargo has concluded, with OpenCritic reporting an average critical score of 74/100—a promising start for this suspenseful narrative.
