World of Warcraft Patch 11.1 introduces customizable character selection screens with collectible campsites! Four new campsites debut, with more promised in future updates.
This new personalization feature, building on the Warbands system from The War Within, lets players select and name individual camps for their characters. Each camp boasts unique unlockable backgrounds.
The first four campsites, viewable and unlockable via the Collections pane, are:
- Ohn'ahran Overlook: A Centaur camp in the Ohn'ahran Plains. Unlocked automatically upon logging in after Patch 11.1.
- Freywold Spring: A hot spring in Freywold Village, Isle of Dorn. Unlocked by completing the "All That Khaz" meta-achievement from The War Within.
- Cultists' Quay: Located in the Nightfall Sanctum Delve in Hallowfall. Earned through the Season 2 Delver's Journey.
- Gallagio Grand Gallery: Gallywix's casino in Undermine. Unlocked by completing the "Racing to a Revolution" meta-achievement from Undermined.
The original Warbands campsite, Adventurer's Rest, remains the default option.
Players can easily preview and unlock these campsites within the Collections pane. A new campsite tab on the character select screen allows easy selection, or even random selection from favorites for varied login experiences.
Blizzard's commitment to expanding this feature is clear. Future updates will likely add more campsites through various avenues, including new and old content, holiday events, the Trading Post, and potentially even the in-game shop.
