The Last Knight is a captivating side quest that adds depth to the Rinascita region in Wuthering Waves. While it may not have the epic scale of the main storyline or larger exploration quests, it offers a unique perspective on life beyond Ragunna City and comes with a rewarding package of in-game bonuses.
Compared to quests like Where Wind Returns To Celestial Realms in WuWa, The Last Knight is straightforward and less time-consuming, making it an excellent choice for players looking for a quick yet engaging experience. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you navigate through this intriguing side quest.
Starting The Last Knight Quest
To embark on The Last Knight quest, you must first complete Chapter 2, including the quest "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing." We strongly recommend finishing the main storyline before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests, including this one, are locked until you complete Chapter 2 Act 3.
Once you've completed the necessary quests, make your way to Egla Town in Whisperwind Haven. Look for Cosimo, who should be standing in front of the first house near the main road leading out of town. He'll be marked by a blue quest marker on your map, making him easy to find.
The Night Reveries
The Night Reveries are performances dedicated to a legendary knight who defeated a giant in Whisperwind Haven. As part of this quest, you'll participate in the performance by confronting the Mad Knight, among other tasks.
The Mad Knight only appears at night. To encounter him, advance the in-game time to between 18:00 and 06:00 the following day, then head to the pool at the center of town. The Mad Knight isn't a formidable foe, so use your full arsenal to take him down swiftly.
The Last Knight: Mimic Chests
After defeating the Mad Knight, proceed to the tallest tower in town and follow the quest marker to reach Carlow. You'll find him unconscious beside a large, purple flower. Interact with the flower to be transported to a different instance, where your challenge is to identify the mimic among several chests.
The first three chests are genuine, but in the next set, only one chest is real, and the rest are mimics. The correct chest to open is the second one in the middle-left position. Opening it will reward you with Astrites and other goodies, but be prepared for an immediate attack from the mimics. Defend yourself and continue the quest.
The Knight's Trail and The Strange Scent
Once you've shaken off the effects of the purple flower, you'll be tasked with visiting the second and third locations reportedly visited by the legendary Mad Knight. This part of the quest involves following quest markers and engaging in conversations with NPCs.
After speaking with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will alert you to a strange scent emanating from somewhere nearby. Follow the quest marker uphill to confront a unique Chop Chop accompanied by an invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. To handle this encounter effectively, equip a Questless Knight Echo in your main Echo slot, which will allow you to parry the Chop Chop's attacks and stun it instantly.
Upon defeating the Chop Chop, Mr. Millkeeper will reveal that the legendary knight was a myth; instead, it was him and other Windmill Keepers who protected the people as faux knights. This revelation causes Carlow to flee in disbelief.
Find Carlow
Return to Egla Town during the day and locate Carlow in one of the town's plazas. You'll find him facing a pair of knights who are mocking him. Instead of backing down, Carlow vows to protect others and challenges one of the knights to a duel, thereby shedding his idealized vision of the Mad Knight and embracing the true essence of being a guardian.
The Last Knight quest concludes with Carlow's duel request. You'll receive Union XP, Astrites, and various resources for completing the quest, marking it off your list for the Tales of the Isles event.
