J.C. Lee Denies Elder Abuse Claims Against Her

Author : Violet Apr 26,2025

J.C. Lee, the daughter of the iconic Marvel creator Stan Lee, has recently broken her silence in an exclusive interview with Business Insider, firmly denying past allegations of elder abuse against both her father and her late mother, Joan. These serious accusations first surfaced in 2017, following Joan's passing, and were notably detailed in a 2018 exposé by The Hollywood Reporter (THR). The THR article painted a troubling picture, suggesting that J.C. Lee, under the influence of three other individuals linked to the Lees, incessantly demanded money and control over her parents' assets. It further alleged that she was involved in heated verbal confrontations with Stan Lee, describing their relationship as volatile and explosive. The report even claimed there was at least one physical altercation, supported by photos of a bruise on Joan Lee's arm, which J.C. Lee has vehemently denied.

In her interview with Business Insider, J.C. Lee categorically refutes these claims, labeling them as "a lie." She explained her initial silence following the THR article, saying she was advised by those around her not to respond publicly. "You think I haven't regretted it to this day?" she expressed. "They are all lies. That photo is insane. I never did it." While J.C. Lee admitted to having intense arguments with her parents over financial matters, she insists these disagreements never escalated to physical violence. "I never ever touched my parents," she emphasized.

Stan Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95 due to a heart attack. The comprehensive interview with J.C. Lee in Business Insider delves into her experiences growing up in the shadow of her father's fame, her financial struggles, feelings of manipulation and loneliness, her creative endeavors, and the challenges of carrying on her father's legacy.
