These numbers represent the lengths of consecutive filled squares in each row or column. For instance, a clue like "4 8 3" indicates sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, separated by at least one blank square.
Solving a nonogram requires you to determine which cells should be filled (boxes) and which should remain empty (spaces). Both are crucial for completing the puzzle accurately.
