Palace - The Free Classic Card Game (Also Called Shed, Karma or "OG")
Palace was the most popular cafeteria and study hall card game at my high school back in the 90s. According to Wikipedia, it's also a favorite among backpackers, making it widely played around the world.
** New options added based on user requests (pick up the pile anytime, and 7 forces a lower card).
** Now includes the ability to play with friends
Challenge eight unique computer characters, each with their own playing style, or face off live against your friends.
Basic Rules:
Every player receives three face-down cards. You cannot look at or change these until the final phase of the game. Then, three face-up cards are placed on top. Finally, each player gets three cards for their hand. You have the option to swap cards from your hand with your face-up cards.
The player holding a 3—or the next lowest available card—begins the game.
On your turn, you must discard one card (or multiple cards of the same rank) equal to or higher than the top card of the pickup pile. Then draw from the deck to keep at least three cards in your hand—unless the deck is empty or you already hold three or more cards.
2s and 10s act as wild cards. A 2 resets the pile, while a 10 clears it. Similarly, four of a kind also clears the pile.
If you don’t have a card equal to or greater than the top card, or any wild card, you must pick up the entire pile.
Once you run out of cards in your hand and the deck is empty, start using your face-up cards. After those are all played, move on to your face-down cards.
The first player to get rid of all their cards wins.
Palace is also referred to as Shed, Karma, or "OG"
