This is a versatile portable media player that also functions as a UPnP DLNA DMR (Digital Media Renderer). It supports a variety of subtitle formats including SSA/ASS, SUP (Blu-ray), and VobSub (DVD), starting from version 5.1. Users can enhance their viewing experience by adding or managing font files, adjusting subtitle brightness to match HDR and Dolby Vision (DV) playback, and resizing the font.
The player supports accessing files through the Storage Access Framework (SAF), which is managed by users, allowing for seamless integration with local storage, Samba/Windows sharing, or WebDAV clients. Subtitles can be either embedded in MKV files or loaded separately, including those packaged in Zip, 7Z, or RAR formats.
For an enriched media experience, the player supports HDR/DV content, digital audio passthrough, MKV chapter navigation, frame-by-frame stepping, audio track selection with delay adjustments, and subtitle selection with time offset capabilities. It also displays frame rates and automatically adjusts the refresh rate.
Dolby Vision playback has been successfully implemented on the NVidia Shield TV 2019 model. Users can rotate videos on demand and utilize full-screen zooming through pinch gestures.
Originally designed for segmented file playback, this player supports files in the m3u8 (HLS media list) format, which traditionally used for TS files but now also accommodates mp4 and flv files.
