Sueca is a classic trick-taking game enjoyed in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Macao, Mozambique, Nagasaki, and Goa. It's a four-player game where participants play in two teams of two.
The aim in Sueca is to capture as many tricks as you can. A 40-card deck is used, which is a standard deck with the 8s, 9s, and 10s removed. Card rank from highest to lowest is: Ace, 7, King (K), Jack (J), Queen (Q), 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Their point values are: Ace (11 points), 7 (10 points, known as "manilha"), K (4 points), J (3 points), Q (2 points). All other cards are worth 0 points.
When you win a trick, you collect the total points of the cards within it. The highest card of the trump suit always takes the trick!
The two-player version of the game is known as Bisca, which is very similar to Sueca. Bisca is also available to play in this app.
