The tingklik is a traditional Balinese musical instrument
The tingklik is a traditional Balinese musical instrument crafted from bamboo blades. It is played by striking these blades with a mallet known as a "pelis." This gamelan ensemble includes two main types: the Tingklik Polos and the Tingklik Sangsih. A standard tingklik typically features between eleven and twenty-five bamboo blades, with the exact number varying based on the musical scale. Players use both hands to perform; the right hand typically handles the kotekan (melody), while the left hand provides the bun (rhythm). On occasion, the roles overlap, with the right hand playing the sangsih part and the left hand performing the polos part.
