Allah says in the Quran:
"And establish prayer for My remembrance" (20:14),
"Indeed, the believers who are successful are those who are humble in their prayers" (23:1-2),
"...and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater..." (29:45)
From these verses, we understand that prayer reminds us of Allah, fosters humility, and keeps us away from immorality and wrongdoing. However, what is the reality? During prayer, our minds often wander to business, jobs, farming, family issues, and daily life matters. How humble are we before the Almighty, the Most Honored and Respected Allah? Millions of Muslims perform their five daily prayers, yet many engage in acts considered immoral or unjust in Islam (such as usury, lying, cursing, backbiting, etc.) immediately after. Why does this happen?
Because we do not know what we are reciting during our standing, Quran recitation, prostration, bowing, and sitting in prayer! In such a state, prayer becomes just a ritual we perform without understanding. Is this the example of an educated nation? It is crucial to understand what you are reciting in your prayers today.
"Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to that of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any way." [Sahih Muslim: 2678]
