Back Wars

Game Introduction

Journey back a millennium to conquer the world!

Lead an army through time to seize control of a world 1000 years in the past. But be warned, your primitive adversaries present unexpected challenges! Command a diverse resistance force, comprised of hundreds of warriors from various global cultures. Switch seamlessly between individual character control and strategic army management. This game masterfully blends grand strategy with immersive, interactive battles. And just when you think the conquest is complete, history may repeat itself...

Upgrades & Customization

While largely free-to-play, optional upgrades enhance your experience. Choose your starting faction and territory size, or engage in custom fantasy battles between any two cultures, deploying as many warriors as your device can handle. You can even edit individual character appearances – but be aware, the game features up to 1000 regularly updated characters.

Intuitive Controls

Individual character control offers a choice between "Classic" one-handed or "Dual Wield" controls. New players can access an in-game control guide via the dateline pause menu. Helpful hints are also scattered throughout the game in scrolls and books.

Switch between controlled characters by tapping their health meter or selecting them directly on the battlefield. Activate "Commander" mode via on-screen arrows to issue strategic commands by swiping from a unit's location to its target. Whether it's relocation, combat, or object retrieval, your units will attempt to follow instructions, though they may prioritize other tasks.

Zoom in/out using the familiar pinch-to-zoom gesture.

Strategic Map Conquest

In "Campaign" mode, expand your territory by moving units between connected areas. Fortify existing territories or attack rivals. Remember, only half your territorial units are available for movement, making defense stronger than offense.

Territorial populations grow after each round, so controlling numerous territories is key. Units also regenerate health over time; rotating locations between turns is recommended.

Performance Considerations

This is my most ambitious game yet, and may require a high-end device for optimal performance (100%). Lowering the "Population" setting reduces on-screen characters, and adjusting other settings in the "Display" options can improve performance.

Discover the depth and surprises this game holds – enjoy the journey!
