Experience the thrill of Bai Cao – Cao Rua, the popular Vietnamese card game! Also known as Cao Cao or 3 Cay (in Northern Vietnam), this game is a favorite during holidays. It’s a high-stakes betting game where players aim for the highest hand.
Gameplay:
Bai Cao uses a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives three cards. The goal is to achieve the highest-scoring hand.
Scoring:
- Number cards (A-10): Value equals the card's number.
- Face cards (J, Q, K): Each counts as ten points.
- Total score: Add the values of your three cards. The final score is the units digit of the sum (e.g., a total of 26 points results in a score of 6). A total of 20 points is considered 0 (Compensation).
- Note: Suits (Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades) are not considered in scoring.
Special Hands:
- Three face cards (J, Q, K): This is known as "3 Tien" (3 West).
- Three of a kind (e.g., 3-3-3): This is known as "3 Scratch."
Winning:
The player with the highest score wins the pot. In case of ties, additional hands are dealt until a winner is determined.
