How the Game Works

Kahoot! Numbers by DragonBox transcends traditional counting by helping children understand the essence of numbers, their functionality, and practical applications. The game fosters an intuitive understanding of numbers through playful interaction with colorful characters called Nooms. These Nooms can be manipulated in various ways—stacked, sliced, combined, sorted, and compared—allowing children to explore basic math concepts like addition and subtraction with numbers from 1 to 20 in a fun and engaging manner.

Features

The app offers four distinct activities, each tailored to challenge children to apply basic math using Nooms in different ways:

In the "Sandbox" section, children are free to explore and experiment with Nooms. This area also serves as an excellent platform for parents and teachers to introduce and explain fundamental math concepts.

The "Puzzle" section engages children in creating puzzle pieces using basic math and arranging them to uncover hidden images. Through this process, children will perform thousands of operations across 250 puzzles, reinforcing their number sense.

In the "Ladder" section, children must think strategically to construct larger numbers, enhancing their understanding of numerical relationships and honing basic math strategies.

The "Run" section challenges children to guide a Noom along a path using quick mental calculations, boosting their ability to recognize and add numbers swiftly. This activity can be navigated using fingers, Nooms, or numerals, making it a dynamic way to reinforce number sense.

Kahoot! Numbers by DragonBox is built on the pedagogical principles that underpin the award-winning DragonBox series. It seamlessly integrates learning into gameplay, eschewing quizzes and repetitive exercises in favor of interactive experiences that deepen children's understanding of numbers and nurture their enthusiasm for math, laying a solid foundation for future mathematical learning.
