Minecraft's latest Java Snapshot, 25w06a, introduces exciting new chicken variants! This guide details how to locate and breed these feathered friends.
Finding Minecraft's Chicken Variants
Warm Chickens: These yellow and orange chickens reside in warmer biomes. Look in: Badlands, Bamboo Jungle, Eroded Badlands, Jungle, Savanna, Savanna Plateau, Sparse Jungle, Windswept Savanna, and Wooded Badlands.
Cold Chickens: Sporting blue feathers, these chickens are found exclusively in cold biomes: Old Growth Pine Taiga, Old Growth Spruce Taiga, Snowy Taiga, Taiga, Windswept Forest, Windswept Gravelly Hills, and Windswept Hills.
Temperate Chickens: The classic white chickens, now called Temperate Chickens, inhabit all biomes not listed above.
Taming and Breeding Chickens
Taming chickens involves feeding them seeds. This will cause them to follow you, allowing you to guide them to a pen or enclosure. Remember, transporting chickens, especially in Survival mode, can be challenging, so plan your routes accordingly.
Breeding is straightforward: feed two chickens of the same variant seeds to produce an egg that hatches into the same type of chicken. For a surprise, feed seeds to two different variants – the resulting egg will hatch into a random variant.
