Schell Games and Innersloth, the masterminds behind Among Us 3D, have set the stage for an unforgettable gaming experience. On April 16, the official Among Us 3D Twitter (X) account thrilled fans by announcing that the game will launch on May 6, 2025.
Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to cater to a wider audience with its innovative cross-play multiplayer feature. Just this week, the developers introduced a new currency called Stardust, which offers players endless flexibility in choosing their in-game purchases.
Among Us 3D is packed with exciting features, including a permanent Tag Mode with the new Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, a mix of new and returning mini-games, and a variety of fresh cosmetics to personalize your character.
It's important to note that Among Us 3D is a distinct entity from the original Among Us VR, which was released in 2022. According to the FAQs on Schell Games' website, cross-play between these two games won't be available. The developers stated, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
