Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to don the yellow and plaid once again, reprising her role as Cher Horowitz in a new sequel series for Peacock. The project, currently in development, promises to continue the beloved story from where it left off, although specific plot details remain under wraps.
This upcoming series marks a fresh attempt at a *Clueless* spin-off, distinct from the one Peacock had planned back in 2020. The creative team behind this new venture includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original *Gossip Girl* series and its reboot, who will be writing the series alongside Jordan Weiss. The trio will also serve as executive producers, joined by Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are set to produce the series.
This isn't the first time *Clueless* has made the leap to the small screen. Following the film's success, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, with Rachel Blanchard stepping into the role of Cher instead of Silverstone.
Silverstone's recent return to her *Clueless* character in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten indicates her enthusiasm to revisit Cher's world. It's clear she's eager to step back into Cher's iconic wardrobe, and fans are undoubtedly excited to see her do so.
