Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, plunges players into an alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war. A recently released gameplay trailer showcases the game's core mechanics, promising a compelling blend of exploration, crafting, and combat.
The trailer, clocking in at seven minutes, establishes Atomfall's post-nuclear setting, hinting at similarities to titles like Fallout and STALKER. Players will navigate quarantine zones, desolate villages, and abandoned research facilities, scavenging resources to survive the harsh environment and its inhabitants: hostile robots and fanatical cultists.
Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall's inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass day-one lineup generated significant buzz. This latest trailer provides a much-needed deeper look at gameplay, addressing fan anticipation.
Gameplay Highlights:
The trailer highlights a range of combat options, from melee weapons (a cricket bat is shown) to firearms such as a revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle. These weapons are upgradeable, suggesting a potential for greater variety and customization. Crafting plays a key role, allowing players to create essential healing items and explosive devices like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in uncovering hidden supplies and crafting components. Skill progression is also featured, with unlockable abilities categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.
Atomfall launches March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass immediately. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so stay tuned for further updates.
