After months of speculation and leaks, it seems Bethesda is on the verge of officially announcing the much-anticipated remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The announcement is set to take place tomorrow at 11:00 am EST, and fans can tune in via both YouTube and Twitch.
The teaser shared by Bethesda on Twitter/X today prominently features a large "IV" and a background reminiscent of iconic Oblivion artwork, strongly hinting at what's to come. Rumors of an Oblivion remake have been circulating for years, gaining momentum with various leaks. The first hint came from a leaked 2020 Bethesda release schedule during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, which mentioned an Oblivion remaster planned for fiscal year 2022. Although that timeline passed, newer leaks emerged in January of this year, suggesting a full remake developed by Bethesda with assistance from Virtuos. The most recent leaks, just last week, included images from Virtuos' website showcasing the remake in action, all but confirming its existence.
If these recent leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered is expected to launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. There will reportedly be a Deluxe Edition available, which includes the infamous horse armor alongside the standard version.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow for the official announcement and to learn more about what Bethesda has in store for this beloved classic.
