Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the unveiling of a brand-new map: The Tomb. This January 15th celebration offers a comprehensive blog detailing all the zombie-themed surprises in store. The highlight? The Tomb, a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th, adding another thrilling location to the Zombies universe just weeks after Season 1's Citadelle des Morts.
Treyarch's story summary reveals that Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya, following Gabriel Krafft's final instructions, investigate an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. This site, The Tomb, is built upon ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., catacombs undisturbed for centuries until the early 1900s—and what lies beneath may be more than anyone anticipated. The map's narrative hints at connections to a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe.
Gameplay-wise, The Tomb offers a similar experience to Liberty Falls—smaller, tighter play spaces designed for high replayability and packed with Easter eggs. Treyarch also teases a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by past games and the return of a classic SMG, promising more details soon.
Season 2 also brings highly requested quality-of-life improvements. Players can now track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer. A co-op pause option is added for Zombies, allowing the party leader to pause mid-game. Zombies and Multiplayer HUD presets will be separated, and players can rejoin Zombies matches with their loadouts if disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double player, weapon, and Battle Pass XP until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared impressive statistics for the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing over 480 million hours played. The team notes that since its launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled, rising from 3.38% to 8.23%.
The Tomb's launch will be particularly noteworthy for fans of the Zombies characters' voice actors. Activision recently acknowledged the recasting of some beloved characters due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
