Blizzard Unveils Six Immersive Warcraft Conventions

Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration

Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a global tour featuring six fan conventions across the globe from February to May 2025. These events promise live entertainment, exclusive activities, and opportunities to connect with Warcraft developers.

Following Blizzard's decision to forgo BlizzCon in 2024 in favor of alternative events like Gamescom and the inaugural Warcraft Direct, the World Tour marks a significant shift in their approach to fan engagement. The tour serves as a celebration of various Warcraft franchise milestones, including World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first year.

The tour kicks off in London on February 22nd and will subsequently visit Seoul, Toronto, Sydney, Sao Paulo, and finally Boston (coinciding with PAX East) on May 10th.

Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Dates:

  • February 22 – London, United Kingdom
  • March 8 – Seoul, South Korea
  • March 15 – Toronto, Canada
  • April 3 – Sydney, Australia
  • April 19 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • May 10 – Boston, United States (during PAX East)

While details remain scarce, the events are anticipated to focus on interactive experiences and community engagement rather than major announcements. Expect live performances, unique activities, and opportunities for face-to-face interactions with the development teams.

Ticket acquisition is unique. Instead of traditional sales, Blizzard describes these as "intimate gatherings" with free, extremely limited tickets. Information on securing tickets will be disseminated through regional Warcraft channels. Fans are encouraged to monitor their local channels for updates.

The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. While a summer/autumn BlizzCon could potentially showcase the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion, including player housing, Blizzard's silence regarding future BlizzCons suggests a possible shift to a biennial schedule, mirroring events like Final Fantasy XIV's Fan Festival. Regardless, the Warcraft World Tour promises a memorable experience for attendees.
