Locating the Rime Beetle
Following Samin's clue, your search begins in the Iceshard Cliffs. Unlike other quests, this requires keen observation and a bit of luck. Rime Beetles are identifiable by their characteristic snowballs.
Focus your search on snowy areas within Iceshard Cliffs, specifically Areas 2, 7, 8, 11, and 13. Look for the telltale snowballs or follow any tracks in the snow.
Capturing the Rime Beetle
To complete Samin's request, capture the Rime Beetle, not simply collect it. Equip your Capture Net (accessible via L1/LB), aim (L2/LT), and wait for the targeting reticle to turn orange before firing. Success adds the Rime Beetle to your collection and completes the quest. Manually collecting them yields Frost Pods instead.
