Chrono Trigger Celebrates 30 Years of Time-Traveling Adventures!

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the legendary JRPG, Chrono Trigger, originally released in 1995 for the Super Famicom. Square Enix is commemorating this milestone with a year-long celebration featuring a variety of exciting projects and events.

A Legacy of Time: More Than Just a Game

Square Enix Japan’s official X (formerly Twitter) account announced the anniversary, rightfully calling Chrono Trigger a "masterpiece that transcends generations." The game’s legendary status is well-deserved, born from the collaborative vision of industry titans Yuji Horii (Dragon Quest), Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball), and Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy).

The company promises a range of projects over the next year that will "go beyond the world of the game," hinting at experiences that extend beyond the game itself. While specifics remain under wraps for now, fans are encouraged to follow the official Square Enix and ChronoTriggerPR X accounts for updates.

A Musical Journey Through Time: Live Stream Event

One confirmed event is a special live stream showcasing the iconic music of Chrono Trigger. The "Chrono Trigger Music Special Live Stream" will air on March 14th at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET, concluding on March 15th at 4 AM PT / 7 AM ET. Tune in on the Square Enix Music YouTube Channel for a nostalgic musical journey.
