NIKKE Global Players Boycott Over CN Server Differences
Global Players Frustrated
The community of GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE global players is voicing their discontent over the notable differences between the global version and the Chinese (CN) server. Launched on May 22, the CN server quickly showcased a plethora of updates that have left global players feeling sidelined.
A Reddit user, Glittering_Novel_783, highlighted on the same day that the CN server boasted all the quality-of-life enhancements the global community had been requesting for over two years. These include quicker loading times, automatic progress in Tribe Towers, enhanced character stats, improved in-game shops, and more.
One significant disparity is with the Regular and Manufacturer Molds. In the global server, high-quality Regular Molds offer a 60% chance at an SSR character and a 40% chance at an SR, while Manufacturer Molds have a 50% chance for an SSR, 30% for an SR, and 20% for an R. Conversely, the CN server introduces a pity system, ensuring an SSR after accumulating 50 pity shards, a feature absent from the global version. Reports also suggest that Manufacturer Molds in the CN server do not include Rs, thereby increasing the chances of obtaining SSRs or SRs.
Community Backlash
The frustration has spilled over onto Reddit and NIKKE’s official Discord, where players have inundated the feedback channels with their grievances. Threads expressing anger and disappointment have garnered hundreds to thousands of upvotes and comments, indicating a significant level of discontent.
The most prominent thread on Discord's feedback channel calls for the global version to receive the same benefits as the CN server. A user showcased a new Private skin exclusive to the CN server, fueling further demands for parity. The discontent continues to grow as comments and discussions escalate by the hour.
SHIFT UP’s Response to the Backlash
In their May 2025 Developer’s Note, SHIFT UP addressed the significant differences between the versions, stating that the CN server would maintain its own separate build due to the 2.5-year gap in development. They acknowledged the potential for story spoilers but emphasized the opportunity to add unique elements to each version.
SHIFT UP recognized the global players' frustration and promised ongoing support for both versions, stating, "We remain committed to supporting the global version with our full effort and will continue working to strengthen both versions together."
Player Response to the Developer’s Notes
Despite SHIFT UP's efforts to clarify the situation, the response from the community has been overwhelmingly negative. Subreddits such as r/NikkeMobile and r/gachagaming have mocked SHIFT UP's statements, with users like satufa2 creating memes that ridicule the idea of the differences "enriching one another."
In protest, players have initiated a "spending freeze," a common tactic in gacha games to influence developers by impacting revenue. They are also urging others to review bomb the game to draw attention to their concerns.
As the situation unfolds, fans continue to flood Subreddits and Discord with their demands for change. It remains to be seen whether SHIFT UP will address these concerns further or stick to their plan of offering region-specific updates and content.
