Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4: Console Testing Update and Save Transfer News
Undertale creator Toby Fox has provided a progress update on the console testing phase for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4. While significant work remains, the process is reportedly proceeding smoothly.
Save Transfer Functionality Confirmed
Fox confirmed on Bluesky that console testing is ongoing, with bug fixes a priority. He noted that PS5 testing hasn't yet begun. A key development is the integration of save file transfer from the Chapters 1 & 2 demo to the full release of Chapters 3 & 4. This feature, recently made possible by newly acquired technology, will allow players to continue their progress seamlessly. Fox expressed optimism about its successful implementation.
Given the positive beta testing results, a release date may be approaching. Fox previously confirmed a 2025 release window for Chapters 3 and 4.
A New Character Revealed: Tenna
Amidst the development, Fox shared humorous anecdotes about a minigame he's creating. His family described it as "a cry for help," while a friend laughed for ten minutes. Speculation arose that this minigame might be intended for Chapter 5, considering Fox's 2024 statement that Chapters 3 and 4 were content-complete.
More significantly, Fox mentioned a friend's comment, "I miss Tenna," revealing a previously unannounced character, Tenna. This character, first glimpsed during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign in September 2022, is confirmed to appear in Chapter 3.
Deltarune, a spiritual successor to Undertale, continues the series' unique gameplay and storytelling, following Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their world-saving adventure.
