Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has announced a restructuring plan involving staff reductions. The company, facing financial difficulties, will lay off approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce.
Concurrently, Crytek revealed that development of the next Crysis game has been paused, a decision made in Q3 2024. The studio is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
Internal efforts to reassign affected staff to other projects, including Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the upcoming Crysis title, proved unsuccessful. Despite cost-cutting measures, layoffs were deemed necessary.

Crytek's future plans emphasize expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, while the new Crysis game is indefinitely delayed. The company assures laid-off employees will receive severance and career support.
Despite the challenges, Crytek expresses confidence in its future, committed to further development of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and continued advancement of its CRYENGINE technology.
