Hearthstone makes its triumphant return to Un'Goro Crater with the upcoming expansion "The Lost City of Un'Goro," launching on July 8. While Un'Goro first appeared in Hearthstone back in 2017, this expansion features an entirely fresh narrative and revamped gameplay mechanics.
What Does The Lost City of Un'Goro Bring to Hearthstone?
This expansion delivers 145 brand-new cards, introduces an innovative keyword, and brings back fan-favorite mechanics. Players will embark on a thrilling new expedition storyline exploring the recently rediscovered ancient city.
The narrative follows Loh, a Tortollan explorer leading a team into the mysterious lost city. Elise Starseeker lends her navigation expertise, with former Tortollan leader Umbra serving as their guide. Unknown to Loh, Umbra harbors hidden agendas that gradually reveal themselves throughout the adventure.
Here's where things get exciting! The expansion introduces "Kindred" - a groundbreaking new keyword. Cards with Kindred gain bonus effects when you've played a card of matching minion type or spell school on your previous turn. Importantly, Kindred triggers based on your prior turn's play, not current actions.
Quest cards make their much-anticipated return as 1-cost Legendary spells automatically included in your opening hand. Each character class receives a unique Quest. Completing specific card conditions unlocks powerful rewards.
Additional Exciting Features
Seven special Story cards pay homage to the original Un'Goro set, letting players revisit memorable events and characters from past expeditions.
The expansion also includes six innovative Map cards. When played, these cards let you discover one option from three possibilities. Play your selected card immediately, and you keep an additional option. Hesitate, and you only retain your initial choice.
