What Duck offers quaint, quirky RTS fun, coming soon to mobile

What Duck is a charming 2D strategy game

Coming soon to Android and iOS, it features—what else?—ducks!

Place towers, summon units, and eliminate your opponent before they eliminate you.

First crabs, and now ducks! It seems random animals are increasingly finding their way into the RTS genre, and What Duck is a perfect example. Arriving soon on iOS and Android, this casual duck-themed RTS brings plenty to the table—so what’s in store?

For starters, What Duck offers no shortage of activities. Alongside a wave-based, multi-lane RTS mode, there’s also a classic 2D tower defense. Both modes are filled with bizarre, whimsically designed duck heroes and units ready for battle.

There are two layers of strategy here: building your own duck-based unit lineup and pairing them with the right hero. You’ll need to collect action points to spawn units and position your towers wisely to stop incoming enemy waves.

ytQuirky!

While What Duck may lack some polish in cohesion, it more than makes up for it in content. With a huge variety of duck characters, the game’s diversity stands out. Still, though the 2D art is delightfully cute, it doesn’t quite match the full 3D chaos of King of Crabs.

That might be the biggest hurdle for new players. So much is happening on-screen at once that it can feel overwhelming. But if you can look past the clutter, What Duck delivers plenty of quirky, over-the-top fun.
