While Final Fantasy VII's deck primarily follows the original game's narrative, it incorporates the aesthetic enhancements of the Remake trilogy. Final Fantasy VI's deck, referencing the game's pixel art and limited concept art, even involved collaboration with the original game's team to ensure faithful representation.
The choice of characters for each deck also involved careful consideration. While Cloud (FFVII) was an obvious choice, other selections involved brainstorming sessions. The Final Fantasy XIV deck, for example, focuses on Y'shtola during her Shadowbringers arc.
