In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the "Canker" side quest is an engaging early-game mission that you can unlock after completing "The Jaunt." This quest not only offers the chance to acquire a mace but also provides additional Groschen, making it a worthwhile endeavor. Here’s a detailed guide on how to complete the "Canker" quest.

To initiate the "Canker" quest, you'll need to have a conversation with Gules at Semine. A convenient time to pick up this quest is during the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes, where you can approach Gules while he's enjoying a drink. Alternatively, you can find Gules on patrol in Semine and start the quest by inquiring about his former bandit associates. Express your willingness to help him eliminate the remaining threats, and he'll direct you to take down Canker, a former member of the bandit group.

Once you accept the quest, Canker's location will be marked on your map, located north of Nebakov Mill. Be prepared for potential ambushes by bandits along the path. You can choose to engage them stealthily, confront them head-on, or simply evade them. Although these random encounters can be a nuisance, especially if you're trying to conserve health for the upcoming battle, dealing with them effectively is part of the journey.
Canker's hideout is nestled in the mountainous terrain, accessible through a narrow gap similar to the entrance to the Hermit's house during the "Wedding Crashers" quest. Make sure you're ready for combat as you'll face a group of bandits alongside Canker. While some bandits might flee depending on the order you take them out, it's crucial to eliminate most of them. Fortunately, Canker will stay and fight, ensuring you can complete your objective by defeating him.
Finish the Quest and Return to Gules
After defeating Canker and his gang, loot his body to collect the Light Mace, which serves as proof of your accomplishment. Feel free to take any other items of interest from him as well. Once you have the mace, head back to Gules to conclude the quest.
Upon completing the "Canker" quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll need to wait a full in-game day before you can engage in the next quest related to Gules' former bandit associates. After the day passes, speak with Gules again to start the "Handsome Charlie" quest.
