How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
Your journey begins as a Soul Spirit, but to ascend to the ranks of a Shinigami, you must heed the call of the Hurt Shinigami NPC. She's in dire need of assistance, and by accepting her quest, you'll commit to the path of a Soul Reaper. Remember, this choice is irreversible unless you later choose to become a Visored. If the allure of the Hollow path beckons, our separate guide on Hollow progression awaits.
Time is of the essence when choosing your path. Opting for the Hollow route requires breaking your chain, but as a Shinigami, your chain will slowly disintegrate over time. Every two minutes, a section breaks, and if you let it fully break, you'll transform into a Hollow. Should this happen, our guide on resurrection moves will be your next step.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your initial task as a Shinigami is to purify 6 Lost Souls, a duty central to maintaining the balance between life and death. Following this, you'll find another quest near the Hurt Shinigami—deliver a letter to a Doctor near the hospital.
These early quests are perfect for familiarizing yourself with your abilities. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop. If funds allow, utilize the bus stop for $200 as a teleport/fast travel option, as the map is vast. Alternatively, for 149 Robux, you can unlock infinite fast travel from the Robux Shop.
As you progress, quests are marked with a red crosshair, guiding you through defeating Hollows, Corrupted Shinigamis, and more until you reach level 15. Quests vary from repeatable to progression-based, with some tied to specific paths like Vizard and Airwalk.
Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
To maximize your Shinigami potential, strategic investment of skill points is crucial. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers a range of Kido abilities exclusive to Shinigami:
- Caja Negacion: A lightning beam from your finger, enhanced with Electric to spread electricity.
- Shakkaho: A red energy ball that explodes on impact, with Ragdoll and Fire options for additional effects.
- Chain Bind: Summons energy chains to pull enemies towards you.
- Prison of Light: Immobilizes enemies with six light rods, ideal for agile foes.
- Thunder Sear: A slow-moving lightning ball that damages and explodes, perfect for crowd control.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
Reaching level 15 unlocks the Shikai Training quest from Urihiro. Defeat Urahara Kisuke to earn 1,700 exp and unlock Shikai powers.
Warning: Facing Kisuke at level 15 can be challenging without optimal gear. Consider grinding to level 25 or higher before attempting this quest.
Using Shikai
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random powerful ability. If unsatisfied, you can re-roll at Urahara Shop for a fee. The Rage Bar fills with damage taken or dealt, and pressing Y (default keybind) activates Shikai until your Reiatsu depletes.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Mastery Points earned from using Shikai Skills increase your Shikai Mastery Level, affecting your Rage Bar efficiency. Each Mastery Level offers unique aura effects and visual enhancements:
- Mastery Level 1: 1-149 Points. Grants Transparent Aura.
- Mastery Level 2: 150-299 Points. Grants a brighter aura with particles.
- Mastery Level 3: 300-499 Points. Grants a Lightning boost.
- Mastery Level 4: 500+ Points. Grants a zone of flying stones around you.
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
To transcend the Shinigami-Hollow divide and become a Visored, you must reach level 50. This unlocks the Vizard fighting style, available at the Vizard’s Warehouse. The journey involves acquiring the Hogyoku, a rare orb dropped by the King of Hueco Mundo with a 1% drop rate, to break the barriers between Shinigami and Hollow.
Hollow Era Visored Mastering
As a Visored, you gain Mask Control to resist Hollow control and extend mask-wear time, enhancing your damage output with Hollow powers.
Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Control your inner Hollow at will.
- Cero: Charge a beam of Reiatsu for significant damage.
- Final Cero: Pin and crush enemies with a powerful Cero.
- Vasto Rage: Transform into the mightiest Hollow type temporarily.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
