"The Thing and Human Torch Set for February Release in Marvel Rivals"

Author : Sadie Apr 21,2025

The excitement for Marvel Rivals continues to build as The Fantastic Four team is set to be completed with the arrival of The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters on February 21, 2025. These new heroes will be launched alongside the update for the second half of Season 1, marking a significant addition to Marvel and NetEase Games’ popular hero shooter. While the specifics of the Season 1.5 update remain under wraps, a Dev Talk blog post on the Marvel Rivals website has hinted at "major balance adjustments" that will accompany the new characters.

Though we're still waiting to see how The Thing and Human Torch will enhance the game's roster with their unique abilities, the previous addition of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman during Season 1's launch gave fans a taste of what to expect. Reed Richards brought his elastic powers to the game, allowing for some goofy yet strategic moves, while Sue Storm introduced invisibility mechanics that shifted the multiplayer game's meta. With Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm joining the fray soon, players are eager for a glimpse of their gameplay before the big release.

The upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 1 update will also feature a rank reset for Ranked players. On February 21, players will see their Rank drop by four divisions. For example, a Diamond I player on February 20 will find themselves at Platinum II the next day. NetEase has outlined that future full-season updates will result in a six-division drop, while half-season updates will see a four-division drop. As the game evolves, NetEase promises to "tune this as necessary" to meet player expectations.

Despite the rank reset, there's good news for competitive players, especially those in the Gold rank, who can look forward to new costume rewards with the launch of the second half of Season 1. Additionally, NetEase will introduce new Crests of Honor to recognize players at the Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All levels (the top 500).

### Marvel Rivals Tier List: Best Heroes

Superhero enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting more details on Marvel Rivals' post-launch plans, and the addition of The Fantastic Four is just the beginning. Last month, creative director Guangyun Chen stirred excitement by promising to release a new playable character every half-season. This means fans can expect a new Marvel hero to join the battle every six weeks, keeping the game fresh and engaging. There's evidence to suggest the vampire-hunting Daywalker Blade might be next in line, though rumors and leaks have kept the community buzzing with speculation about the game's future.

While waiting for the mid-season update, players can check out our current Marvel Rivals Season 1 tier list to find out the best characters. This will help you stay ahead of the game as the meta evolves. You can also delve into how the original Marvel Rivals Season 1 patch reshaped the meta and understand the community's reactions to the alleged bot issue that stirred up quite a bit of discussion.
