This event coincides with Pokémon GO's ninth anniversary, leading up to the summer and Pokémon GO Fest. It precedes Pokémon GO Tour: Unova (February 21st-23rd in Los Angeles and New Taipei City, global event in March).
Event Highlights:
- Dates: Wednesday, January 29th, 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 2nd, 8:00 p.m. local time.
- Increased Odds: Boosted chances of securing Lucky Pokémon from trades and becoming Lucky Friends.
- Wild Encounters: Expect frequent encounters with Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, Dunsparce, Gyarados, and Dratini, including Shiny versions! Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi will hatch from 2km Eggs.
- Research Rewards: Complete Field Research and Timed Research tasks for Stardust, XP, Zygarde Cells, and Pokémon encounters. A paid Timed Research ($2) offers enhanced rewards, including two Lucky Eggs and an incubator.
- Collection Challenge: A special Collection Challenge will reward extra Stardust for trading.
- PokéStop Showcases: Showcase your Lunar New Year Pokémon at PokéStops for potential item bundle rewards.
