With August behind us, and the Young Avengers fading into memory, Marvel Snap (Free) is ready for a new season! This time, it's a thrilling Spider-themed season! While Bonesaw remains absent (for now!), exciting new cards and locations await. Let's dive in!

This season introduces "Activate," a game-changing card ability. Unlike "On Reveal," Activate lets you choose when to trigger a card's effect, offering strategic flexibility and bypassing certain "On Reveal" counters. The Season Pass card perfectly exemplifies this new mechanic. For a sneak peek at the season's launch, check out the video below:

Symbiote Spider-Man, the Season Pass card, is a 4-Cost, 6-Power powerhouse. His Activate ability absorbs the lowest-cost card at his location and copies its effect. If that includes an "On Reveal" ability, it's triggered again! Prepare for chaotic combinations, especially with Galactus. This card's power might necessitate a nerf later in the season, but it's undeniably fun.

Other notable additions include:

  • Silver Sable: A 1-Cost, 1-Power card with an "On Reveal" ability that steals two power from the top card of your opponent's deck. Excellent on its own, and even more potent with specific locations and card synergies.
  • Madame Web: Boasting an Ongoing ability, she lets you move one card at her location to another location once per turn.
  • Arana: Another 1-Cost, 1-Power card with an Activate ability. Activating her moves the next card you play to the right and grants it +2 Power. A potential staple in move-based decks.
  • Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly): A 4-Cost, 5-Power card with an Activate ability that spawns an identical clone at another location. Amplify his power, then duplicate the effect!

Two new locations join the fray:

  • Brooklyn Bridge: A classic Spider-Man location with a unique twist – you can't play cards there on consecutive turns. Strategic placement is key!
  • Otto's Lab: Similar to Otto himself, the next card played here pulls a card from your opponent's hand onto the location. Expect surprises!

This season introduces compelling cards and the innovative "Activate" mechanic, promising exciting strategic depth. Our September deck guide will be available soon to help you conquer this web-slinging challenge. What are your thoughts on this season? Which cards are you most excited to play? Will you be purchasing the Season Pass? Share your opinions in the comments!
