The newest installment in the Oceanhorn franchise, Chronos Dungeon, marks a significant shift from its predecessors. Breaking away from 3D graphics, developers have chosen a nostalgic top-down pixel art style reminiscent of classic 16-bit arcade games.
What’s the story behind Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon?
The once-magnificent White City has vanished beneath the waves of time. Now only fragments remain - scattered islands adrift in the Uncharted Sea. Amid these ruins of a lost kingdom, four daring adventurers pursue myths and ancient arcane secrets.
Their quest leads them to the Chronos Dungeon, an ever-changing underground maze where history itself may be rewritten. At its heart lies the Paradigm Hourglass, an artifact capable of altering past events.
Yet the journey proves treacherous. This dungeon breathes and evolves - its procedurally generated floors shifting with each attempt. While no two expeditions are identical, your heroes' paths are further influenced by celestial zodiac signs.
Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon features four distinct classes: Knight, Huntress, Grandmaster, and Mage. Players can fluidly switch between characters mid-adventure.
Designed primarily as a four-player cooperative experience, the game cleverly accommodates solo play by letting one player control all heroes. If teammates disconnect during multiplayer sessions, remaining players can seamlessly take over abandoned characters.
