As we approach the end of January and look forward to the rest of the year, fans of Pokémon TCG Pocket have a significant reason to celebrate. The much-anticipated trading feature has finally launched, coinciding with the release of a major new expansion, Space-Time Smackdown!
Let's dive into the trading feature first. It's designed to mimic real-life card trading, allowing you to exchange cards with friends. However, there are some limitations to keep in mind: only cards of rarities 1-4 and 1-star can be traded, and you'll need specific resources like trade hourglasses and trade tokens to make these exchanges. Despite these restrictions, it's a substantial addition to the game.
But that's not all! The Space-Time Smackdown expansion introduces iconic legendary Pokémon, Dialga and Palkia, to Pokémon TCG Pocket. It also marks the debut of the Sinnoh region starters, Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, along with a host of other exciting cards.
Ice-typeHowever, the reception to the new trading feature has been somewhat chilly. While I believe it's a valuable addition, the numerous caveats have led to some dissatisfaction among players. I feel that Pokémon TCG Pocket might have been better served by either omitting the trading feature entirely or making it more accessible, without the need for resources or restrictions on which cards can be traded. There's hope on the horizon, though, as the developers are reportedly monitoring feedback and may introduce changes soon.
