Hearthstone's Year of the Raptor: A 2025 Roadmap of New Content and Features
Get ready for a thrilling year in Hearthstone! 2025 promises a whirlwind of surprises, innovative gameplay, and exciting new features. Expect the usual three expansions, Mini-Sets, and Battlegrounds seasons, all launching soon. The positive reception to the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set has clearly energized Blizzard, leading to an ambitious roadmap for the year.
What's New in the Year of the Raptor?
A major highlight is the long-awaited Arena overhaul. In development since last year, this refresh aims to revitalize the Arena experience for both veteran and new players.
Cosmetics are also receiving a significant boost. Prepare for new Mythic skins and Signature cards, along with a brand-new addition: Pets! These adorable companions will integrate into a new cosmetic acquisition system, though details remain under wraps for now.
The Year of the Raptor officially begins with the first expansion, Into the Emerald Dream. Card reveals begin next week, but the in-game celebration is already underway. Complete the Event Track to earn rewards including The Great Dark Beyond Epic cards, packs from the new expansion, and a Raptor Herald card.

A dynamic new game board is launching alongside the expansion. The Year of the Raptor board will remain throughout the year, receiving visual and audio updates with each subsequent expansion.
The Core Set is also getting a refresh. Expect the return of some classic cards (with potential tweaks) and the introduction of brand-new cards.
