Rust's Massive Update Introduces Enhanced Cooking and Farming Mechanics

Rust's highly anticipated "Crafting Update" has arrived, dramatically expanding the game's crafting and survival mechanics. A culinary workbench lets players grill chicken legs and even pair them with Siberian vodka! Recipes are required for these dishes, and successfully prepared meals offer valuable stat boosts and gameplay modifiers.

Domesticating chickens is now possible with the introduction of chicken coops. These coops provide a safe haven for chickens and chicks, but careful attention is needed. Each chick has four vital needs: Hunger, Thirst, Love, and Sunlight. Neglecting these needs will lead to their demise. Furthermore, chicken meat spoils, requiring refrigeration for preservation. Food items now display clear expiration timers.

Adding a touch of sweetness to the survival experience, wild beehives can be found in trees. Players can carefully extract honeycombs and relocate them to player-built hives crafted from wooden boxes. However, harvesting honey is perilous. Bees are aggressive and require players to wear protective suits, use water, or employ flamethrowers to avoid stings. A new weapon, the Bee Grenade (which looks suspiciously like a jar of honey), unleashes three swarms of angry bees upon impact, creating chaotic escapes.

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, introducing separate tech trees for plumbing and electricity. This allows for the creation of complex automated systems and even entire factories. Finally, premium servers have been introduced, accessible only to players with a Rust inventory valued at a minimum of $15. This initiative aims to curb cheating and disruptive behavior, providing a more enjoyable experience for dedicated players.
