The new year in Pokémon GO is bringing trainers a plethora of new Pokémon to catch! Following Fidough's arrival, Shroodle is making its debut – but unlike many wild spawns, acquiring it requires a bit more effort.
Shroodle's Pokémon GO Arrival
The Toxic Mouse Pokémon, Shroodle, enters the Pokémon GO world on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally introduced in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively new addition to the Pokémon universe. Post-event, Shroodle will remain obtainable.
Shiny Shroodle?
Unlike some recent Pokémon introductions, Shroodle will not be available in its Shiny form at launch. Expect its Shiny variant to appear in a future event, potentially one focused on Poison-type Pokémon or Team GO Rocket.
How to Catch Shroodle
Breaking from the usual wild spawn pattern, Shroodle is exclusively obtainable by hatching 12KM Eggs. This method is currently the sole way to acquire Shroodle in Pokémon GO.
12KM Eggs collected from 12 AM local time on January 15th onwards have a chance to hatch into Shroodle. Its hatch rate will likely be boosted during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but it should remain part of the 12KM egg pool afterward.
Securing 12KM Eggs
Given Shroodle's exclusive 12KM Egg hatching method, a reminder on how to obtain these rare eggs is helpful. They're acquired by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event is ideal for stocking up on 12KM Eggs, as Team GO Rocket activity increases, making Rocket Radars easier to find. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts at any time to challenge the Leaders and obtain a 12KM Egg (provided you have inventory space).
Grafaiai Acquisition
Shroodle's evolution, Grafaiai, also arrives on January 15th. Unlike Shroodle, it's neither hatched from eggs nor found in the wild. Evolution is the only path to obtaining Grafaiai. This requires 50 Shroodle Candy, necessitating multiple Shroodle hatches or using a Shroodle as your buddy Pokémon.
