Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release for Original Switch
Following Silksong’s brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, many fans feared that the game might skip the current-generation console and head straight to the next-gen. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and the original Switch, and later expanded to include PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Silksong has kept fans eagerly waiting.
On April 8, Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, took to Twitter (X) to address fans' concerns about the game's platform availability. Griffin confirmed that Silksong will indeed be released for both the original Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.
While there are no official details on how the versions will differ, players can anticipate that the game will benefit from higher resolution and enhanced features on the Switch 2.
New Silksong Images Revealed
Following the Switch 2 Direct, new images of Silksong were shared on Nintendo Japan’s official website. These images showcase locations previously seen, but with noticeable graphical enhancements since their initial reveal in 2019.
