Silver Surfer Illuminated in Fantastic Four Trailer Amid Galactus Threat

Author : Mia May 17,2025

The latest trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps offers an exciting glimpse into a new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) world, highlighting the pivotal role of Julia Garner's Silver Surfer. This two-and-a-half-minute clip dives deeper into how Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) have transformed their universe into a utopian society. Marvel's First Family is portrayed as a (growing) group of heroes who not only save the day but also serve as role models for people of all ages. Yet, their harmonious world faces a formidable challenge when Garner’s Silver Surfer descends from the sky, warning of an imminent threat: Galactus.

PlayToday’s trailer is significantly more action-oriented than previous footage. It showcases Ben Grimm smashing through pillars and gives us a fresh perspective on Reed Richards' stretchy abilities. These are innovative interpretations of the classic powers that the Fantastic Four have possessed for decades, and we're eager to see how they'll collaborate when The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters this July.

Julia Garner's Silver Surfer truly steals the spotlight in this trailer. With just a few ominous words about this alternate Earth being "marked for death," her character exudes a formidable presence as she effortlessly repels the Human Torch and navigates through explosive scenes. While we're left in suspense regarding Galactus' full MCU appearance, the trailer does tease his arrival with a brief shot of him stomping through a city.
