Disney reveals exciting updates as EPCOT's Test Track presented by General Motors prepares for its grand reopening on July 22, 2025 at Walt Disney World Resort.
According to Disney Parks Blog, this attraction revamp features a brand-new musical score and innovative scenes demonstrating "how technology enhances both vehicle intelligence and driving enjoyment."
The updated experience includes groundbreaking vignettes illustrating "how modern vehicles utilize advanced cameras and sensors to interpret their surroundings," offering guests insight into autonomous driving technology and LiDAR safety systems.
Disney emphasizes this version differs from previous iterations by grounding its concept in reality rather than fictional simulations. A highlight includes sequences simulating scenic drives through Pacific Northwest landscapes.
"Our redesigned Test Track celebrates the joy of road trips and creating lasting memories with loved ones," explained Walt Disney Imagineering's Nathaniel Gearhart. "It's about those special journeys that become lifelong highlights."
The creative team meticulously recreated Pacific Northwest authenticity by incorporating four indigenous tree species - Cedar, Spruce, Maple, and Oak - complemented by lush overhead canopies.
The attraction's evolution spans decades: Test Track debuted in 1999, received its first major update in 2012, and now gears up for its 2025 relaunch following temporary closure on June 17, 2024 for these enhancements.
This eagerly anticipated return forms part of Walt Disney World's summer offerings, featured among 14 compelling reasons to visit during Cool Kid Summer.
