A potential leak from GameStop suggests an upcoming Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, may be unveiled during tonight's PlayStation State of Play. Gematsu uncovered pre-order listings on GameStop's website for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, though details remain scarce.
The timing of the leak, just hours before Sony's State of Play presentation (a 40-minute showcase), strongly hints at an official announcement. The Digimon Story series, originating with the Nintendo DS title in the mid-2000s, has a history of RPG gameplay focused on befriending and battling Digimon. While recent years have seen releases like Digimon Survive, a new main entry in the Story series has been absent since 2017's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker's Memory. Producer Kazumashu Habu hinted at a new Story game in 2022, fueling anticipation for this potential reveal. The GameStop listings, lacking images or gameplay footage, leave much to the imagination, but a formal announcement seems imminent.
