Roblox's Rivals Update 9: New Gunblade Weapon and Bridge Map
The popular first-person shooter (FPS) Roblox experience, Rivals, has dropped Update 9, introducing the creative Gunblade weapon and a new map, Bridge. Developer Nosniy Games provided patch notes detailing these additions, along with minor tweaks. While a smaller update than some previous releases, it still offers significant new content.
The Gunblade, a combination rifle and blade, is a unique addition that's sure to shake up gameplay. Its dual functionality allows for both ranged attacks and close-quarters combat, making it particularly effective on the new Bridge map. This arena-style map, created by @GreatGuyBoom and set in Seoul, features close-quarters combat with limited cover.
The developers stated their commitment to addressing player feedback and ensuring all necessary changes are implemented before the launch of Ranked. Since its release last May, Rivals has consistently received updates. Update 7, for instance, included the Energy Rifle, Energy Pistols, and Crossbow. NEW MAP:
- The Bridge map—an arena-style duel zone located in Seoul, South Korea, created by @GreatGuyBoom.
NEW SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
- New challenges replace the Winter Spotlight, offering keys and the limited-time Bungeoppang charm for completing tasks on the Bridge map.
OTHER:
- Minor modifications to Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi skins.
- Renaming of Hexxed Flare Gun, Hexxed Candle, and Hexxed wrap to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, and Vexed respectively.
DEVELOPER'S NOTE:
The developers expressed excitement about the new map and celebrating their Korean community. They confirmed that the next major update will focus on the Ranked mode and include previously omitted bug fixes, balance changes, and quality-of-life improvements.
