Spy - Board Party Game

Game Introduction

Guess who is The Spy — an exciting and interactive card board party game that brings together logic, deduction, and social interaction. In this engaging role-playing game, players are randomly assigned roles as either local residents or the spy. The core objective is simple yet thrilling: locals must converse and ask questions to uncover the hidden spy, while the spy tries to blend in and discover the secret location.

Each round begins with players receiving their roles and the designated location. From there, dialogue unfolds as players take turns asking each other questions about the setting without revealing it outright. Locals must work together, exchanging clues and analyzing responses, while the spy attempts to avoid suspicion by answering naturally — or even taking a chance to guess the location and win the round.

If a player becomes suspicious of another, they can declare “I know who the spy is!” prompting all players to point to who they believe the spy might be. If everyone selects the same person, that player reveals their role. If it's the spy, the locals win — but if it’s a local, the spy takes the victory. Alternatively, the spy can attempt to guess the location. If correct, the spy wins; if not, the locals triumph.

A key element of the game lies in maintaining secrecy and using deductive reasoning. The spy must carefully navigate conversations without giving away their identity, while players develop their logical thinking and language skills to successfully identify the imposter. This makes [ttpp]Spy[/ttpp] a fantastic choice for group gatherings, family nights, or even among strangers looking for an icebreaker that’s more original than classic games like Mafia, Spyfall, Undercover, Werewolf, or other similar guessing games.

Game Rules

  1. Players take on the roles of either locals or a spy. Use your device to secretly learn your role — only the spy remains unaware of the actual location.
  2. Engage in conversation by asking each other questions about the location. Answers should be informative enough to help locals deduce the spy, but not so direct that the spy can easily guess the place.
  3. If you suspect someone of being the spy, say "I know who the spy is!" Then, all players will indicate who they think the spy is.
  4. If all players agree on one individual, that player must reveal their role. If it's the spy, the locals win. If it's a local, the spy wins. If votes differ, the game continues.
  5. The spy may try to guess the location at any time. If guessed correctly, the spy wins the round. If incorrect, the locals win. Good luck!
