Sonic Rumble Pre-Release Event with Monkey Ball, Altered Beast

Author : Madison Apr 15,2025

While the global release of Sonic Rumble is slated for May 8th, the excitement isn't being kept on hold. The game is set to kick off its inaugural crossover event even before its worldwide launch, featuring iconic characters from Sega's rich history. This pre-release event is a treat for those in soft launch regions, running from now until May 7th.

During this event, fans can snag the Werewolf character from the classic Altered Beast for free. But that's just the beginning. Subscribers to the Sega Star Event Pass will unlock additional characters, including the Weredragon from Altered Beast and Opa-Opa, the original Sega mascot from Fantasy Zone.

For those looking to expand their roster further, the in-game Ring Shop will offer Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, the Red Star Ring Shop will feature characters from Super Monkey Ball, including AiAi and MeeMee, available for purchase.

It's quite the unusual move to host such an event before the official release, but it's a thrilling opportunity for those with early access. Sega has promised that this is just the beginning of a packed schedule of crossovers and collaborations for Sonic Rumble.

Speaking of upcoming releases, keep an eye out for Supercell's latest venture. The Finnish developer is gearing up for another rare launch. Dive into our Mo.co preview to discover why this quirky, monster-hunting part-timer simulator is worth a second look, coming soon to iOS and Android!
