Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has shared a moving message following a near-fatal incident. Last week, he was found "barely alive" in his Atlanta hotel room, where he was attending a National Alzheimer's Foundation benefit.
A video posted on his GoFundMe page, which has already raised an astounding $174,653 for medical expenses, reveals Johnson was in a coma. "I discovered there's a tremendous amount of love in the world that I wasn't aware of, and I'm deeply grateful to each and every one of you," he expressed.
Johnson recounted the events, stating, "Rumors of my demise were not exaggerated. It was incredibly close. But I'm still here." He credits his wife, Kim Johnson, and son for contacting the hotel and ensuring his prompt medical attention. He spent five days in a coma before learning of the GoFundMe campaign launched by his friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker.
He extended his gratitude to the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family, Ted Leonsis (Washington Capitals parent company chairman) for a generous $25,000 donation, and Bethesda for their public show of support. "You say I'm your friend. I am," he affirmed, "Always will be. Love you guys." He concluded with a message of thanks to his fans, promising, "I'm not going anywhere. It'll take time, but I'm coming back."
Johnson's extensive voice acting career encompasses various film and television roles, but he's particularly recognized for his contributions to Bethesda games. His memorable roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, multiple Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
