Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch.
The closure affects only the global server; the Japanese version, launched in September 2023, remains operational and is even preparing for its 1.5th-anniversary celebration in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's fate.
Closure Details:
- EOS Date: March 28th, 2025.
- In-game Purchases: Disabled. Remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown.
- Final Content: Developers promise new content and events leading up to the closure.
Reasons for Closure:
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience. Low player engagement and negative feedback, particularly concerning the gacha system, power creep, and overall monetization strategy, contributed significantly to the decision. While the core characters were well-received, the gameplay and business model ultimately failed to attract and retain a substantial player base.
The global version's first anniversary on January 25th, 2025, has unfortunately coincided with its impending closure.
Players wishing to experience the game one last time can find it on the Google Play Store. Alternatively, you might consider exploring other mobile gaming options, such as the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year event.
