Herta, also known as Madam Herta, is a powerful 5-Star Ice Erudition unit and an Emanator of Nous, the Aeon of Erudition in Honkai: Star Rail. She's member 83 of the Genius Society and founder of the Herta Space Station. Her in-game puppets are modeled after her younger self.
As an Erudition unit, Herta excels in AoE combat but performs well even with fewer targets. Her self-buffs and damage multipliers are impressive, including an 80% team-wide CRIT DMG boost with another Erudition unit and a three-turn personal ATK buff from her Ultimate. This makes her relatively easy to build, offering F2P-friendly options.
Her gameplay centers around Inspiration and Interpretation stacks. Consuming Inspiration enhances her Skill, while Interpretation stacks on enemies increase the damage of her enhanced Skill and Ultimate. Below is an overview of optimal builds.

Herta prioritizes ATK, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG. Buffs to her Skill and Ultimate are highly beneficial. While SPD helps, its importance depends on team synergy.
Scholar Lost in Erudition is her best Relic set, boosting CRIT Rate, Skill and Ultimate damage. Hunter of Glacial Forest is a solid alternative, increasing Ice DMG and CRIT DMG. For newer players, any 2-piece combination of CRIT Rate, Ice DMG, or ATK% works.
