Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has achieved remarkable success, selling over a million copies, as announced by publisher Kepler Interactive. This debut RPG from developer Sandfall Interactive not only reached a sales milestone of 500,000 copies within its first 24 hours but has now doubled that impressive figure.
"And here we are. Three days after launch. One million copies sold. Thank you for believing in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33," the studio said on social media over the weekend.
The game's success extends beyond sales; according to SteamDB, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 achieved a concurrent peak of 121,422 players on Steam over the weekend. This figure surpasses the concurrent peak of any other game from renowned RPG developer Atlus, including the popular Metaphor: ReFantazio, which launched in October 2024 and peaked at 85,961 players.It's important to note that concurrent player records don't represent the full player base. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was also released on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X and S, and was available on day one through the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. This suggests that the total number of players who engaged with the game over the weekend is likely much higher, indicating its widespread popularity.

Developed by the newly established Sandfall Interactive, this turn-based RPG draws significant inspiration from genre classics.
