First announced back in 2018, this animated series promises an eight-episode first season and is being brought to life by the talented team at Studio Mir, renowned for their work on acclaimed shows such as The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97. The project is spearheaded by none other than Adi Shankar, the showrunner behind the hit series Castlevania.
While the plot remains shrouded in mystery, the teaser suggests that the series will focus on the iconic character Dante, set during the timeline of the first three Devil May Cry games. Fans will be delighted to know that Johnny Yong Bosch, the voice of Nero in the video games, will lend his voice to Dante in this anime adaptation. However, any direct connections to the video games have yet to be confirmed.
The last entry in the Devil May Cry video game series, Devil May Cry 5, was released in 2019 and marked a triumphant return for the franchise following a period of dormancy since DmC: Devil May Cry in 2013. Praised for its action-packed gameplay, Devil May Cry 5 is a must-play, especially for those who have recently enjoyed titles like Ninja Gaiden Black 2.
